Daily time series of NZDI (New Zealand Drought Index) and its components (standardized precipitation index, soil moisture deficit, and potential evapotranspiration deficit) for the period 1972 to 2100, for 6 different global climate models and 4 different future scenarios (RCPs 2.6, 4.5, 6.0 and 8.5). Data will be provided on NIWA's VCSN (Virtual Climate Station Network) grid, comprising 11,591 points over New Zealand.
Many different datasets will be produced, such as: * Regional Climate Model (RCM, 12km) downscaling from NZ Earth System Model global simulations, for ensemble of initial conditions and future forcing (with UM) * Very-high resolution (1.5km) experimental data sets for sub-NZ domains (with UM) * High resolution (4km) experimental simulations with CSIRO CCAM model * Statistically downscaled RCM data onto 5km VCSN grid of the above simulations * NZ Drought Index and its 4 component indices on VCSN 5km grid for CMIP5 simulations (6 models, 4 RCPs)
