Oreti Beach toheroa survey (MPI project TOH201801)NIWA Dunedin team will survey Oreti Beach in Southland in February 2019. Quadrats of 0.5 m2 are dug every 5 metres along randomly allocated transects within strata oriented from high to low water. Data collected are toheroa numbers, size, and distribution along/up and down the beach. Some transects will be sieved to locate very small juveniles. Data are archived in the MPI 'Beach' database.
