The geometry is checked, and if needed repaired. After processing, the data set is checked for drawing display and number of records and file sizes compared with source materials. The DWBM was derived using Landsat 7 (Global Land Survey (GLS) 2000 and GLS 2005) and SRTM (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission) as a global base. Landsat 7 provided the horizontal positional accuracy of +/- 50 meters 90% CE, and SRTM ensured that features appropriately fit the topography (i.e. rivers flowed through valleys). The following steps were performed by Esri: Copied the dataset from Data and Maps 2014 World Administrative Divisions. Dissolved features on the fields COUNTRY, ISO_CC, CONTINENT, LAND_TYPE, LAND_RANK, and COUNTRYAFF to create the multipart polygon country features.
