  Fiordland (Te Moana o Atawhenua) Marine Area Monitoring Survey 2008-2009

During January and February 2009, divers surveyed fish, lobster and habitat-forming benthic species inside and outside six Fiordland marine reserves, using visual census methods.

Purpose
Data contributed to a monitoring time-series initiated by the Department of Conservation in 2006. New sites were also added to balance the sampling design for assessing temporal and spatial change in the marine reserves compared to fished areas.
