O Tu Wharekai algae survey
Periphyton samples were collected from 30 sites in the O Tu Wharekai conservation area (Ashburton Lakes) between February and April 2011. Basic water quality and habitat data were collected at the time of sample collection. The objective was to obtain baseline data on stream algae communities in the area, and to investigate whether there were correlations between habitat and composition.
