Samples have been collected annually (roughly) since 1997. A fourth site in the Lower Waiau (Weir) was surveyed up until 2002, after which the Mararoa site was added. Average abundance (9 samples pooled) of each taxon encounted at each site / date combination is reported on a 1 (rare) to 5 (abundant) scale. Sampling and analysis funded by Meridian Energy.
