The geometry is checked, and if needed repaired. After processing, the data set is checked for drawing display and number of records and file sizes compared with source materials. The DWBM was derived using Landsat 7 (Global Land Survey (GLS) 2000 and GLS 2005) and SRTM (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission) as a global base. Landsat 7 provided the horizontal positional accuracy of +/- 50 meters 90% CE, and SRTM ensured that features appropriately fit the topography (i.e., rivers flowed through valleys). The following steps were performed by Esri: Extracted the FGDB feature class from the subset of DeLorme World Base Map (DWBM). Dissolved on all fields to reduce the number of features and to make the features multipart polygons. Deleted fields not needed. Used overlay, merge, and manual processes to append the fields from Data & Maps 2013 World Administrative Divisions.
