A survey on the R/V Tangaroa as phase1 of the Ocean Survey 2020 project to determine the morphology of the seabed by multibeam in the coastal region adjacent to the Bay of Islands from Whangaruru Bay in the south to Spirits Bay in the north. Sampling of the benthic biology and water column later in phase 2.
